Secondary Trauma / Compassion Fatigue Workshop & Support Circle

Secondary trauma, also known as vicarious trauma or compassion fatigue, is a psychological and emotional response to the trauma experienced by someone else, rather than being directly exposed to the traumatic event or events. It occurs when individuals, often professionals or caregivers, are repeatedly exposed to the stories, images, or experiences of those who have experienced trauma. Which is what the majority has been experiencing with the Palestine-Israel conflict. This exposure, especially from the distressing graphic content witnessed can have a profound impact on ones mental and emotional well-being. This initiative is to provide a support group for those affected by witnessing the trauma of others and to provide a safe space to speak of those emotions. In addition to providing coping strategies in safeguarding and protecting ones mental health during these unforeseen times.
